David Somerville Wright is a concert soloist, recitalist and early music consort singer. He has performed as a soloist across the United Kingdom and has toured Europe and the United States with a number of ensembles. He is a founder member of the vocal ensemble Stile Antico, winners of the Early Music Network's 2005 Young Artists Competition Audience Prize, and has performed regularly at home and overseas for A Capella Portuguesa, The Brabant Ensemble and Musica Humana Oxford.
Recent solo appearances include Handel's Messiah, Theodora and Samson, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Bach's St. John Passion, Haydn's The Creation and Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs.
David began singing as a chorister at Durham Cathedral and was subsequently a Choral Scholar at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. He remains a keen recitalist and has given performances of music by Schubert, Wolf and Fauré.
